Our Mission
To eliminate or alleviate health barriers that interfere with a student's ability to learn and to create a safe and orderly environment, thereby enabling students to become successful life learners. The Health room is designed to assist students with chronic conditions and be an emergency station to care for minor injuries and illnesses that occur at school. Injuries or health concerns that occur outside of school should be treated at home or by your health care provider. The school nurse cannot diagnose or prescribe medications.

School Nurse Program
Rock Hill Schools have a full time licensed nurse assigned to each elementary, middle school, and high school. The school nurse staff functions individually as a member of the school site staff with responsibility for promotion of health & safety, facilitation of positive student development, and intervention with actual and potential health issues through active collaboration with school staff. As a team, the district nursing staff conducts student screenings, offers staff training opportunities, and develops district procedure and protocol for student health issues. The school nurse staff works with community agencies to bring services to the students as needed. They regularly attend state and regional professional development opportunities and serve as trainers for school site health related initiatives. The nursing staff participates in school health team processes, crisis management team implementation of school safety procedures, and school intervention team functions.
